Hey guys, Mursal and I made an infographic (and as well as a presentation) on difference in time management between F2F and online classes and then based on our readings, we have also proposed some strategies. You can view our infographic on the link below and we are looking forward to receiving your comments on that :). Do you agree that these strategies can help us manage our online time well?

Thanks.

I my opinion, online education is very good when we are talking about distance education but still, I am very in side of in-class education. I think it is more effective but nowadays online education has become a very irrefutable part of our lives. So, more things need to be done to be more professional in online education and develop it better.

It's actually not hard to understand why online learning has become more popular in recent years. On the one hand, eLearning programs have gained enormous popularity simply because they are so much more practical than conventional face-to-face programs. So, as you mentioned, Harira, it should be more professional to have incredible online classes. I think this course will help us understand how we can use technology in an efficient way in our classes.

Dear Harira, you are right that face to face education is more effective in my perspective too. Yet, sometimes we do not have opportunity of studying F2F. Therefore, it is better to study online. As you are aware of education situation in Afghanistan for female students. They are prohibited to attend their schools and universities. So now the only option they have is to study online. In such cases online education is effective and the only solution to continue education. To study online we need to consider lots of elements and one of those elements is effective time management both for teachers and students.

My question is how can we increase social presence and not affect the time management?

I believe that social presence in online education can be achieved without consuming lots of time. for instance, it takes a few minutes to put a welcoming message for our students in order to feel their teacher's presence. Also, we can achieve social presence by giving more group work and pair work to our students in order to do the assignments together. In this way, they all work together online and will be more motivated to study and do assignments. At the same time, it gives them the feeling that they are not alone and they can feel each other's presence in online classes.

I appreciate your excellent infographic, Fakhrullah. I enjoyed it.
We constantly attempt to accomplish the things that we can't do by ourselves, which is one of the aspects about time management in online classrooms that I really appreciated. For instance, the teacher posted certain readings on Google Classroom for us to read before class, and during the lesson, we were expected to discuss and share our thoughts on what we had individually read.
And I thought Mr. Gwin's statement, "We are doing what we cannot do outside of class," was extremely well put. :)

I really appreciate your work.
I may ask for your idea on the cultures for online classes. Can we have the classroom culture that Dr. lumov suggests, or when it comes to online classes we should find some more alternative cultures?

I want to mention one of the advantages of online education is that with experience in both of these areas, you can make an impression for future employers with your ability to learn and continue to grow at work. Many online graduates find that because they are already used to learning and working as a student, they will be better prepared to continue learning as an employee when the time comes.
