By far, digital technology has improved teaching and learning and made a variety of modifications. There are several digital resources that can be utilized or accessed in a classroom, and Google Map is one of them. Google Map can be utilized in a variety of classes and is useful in strengthening lesson plans to make them more engaging for students. One benefit of utilizing Google Map is that it can be accessed by anybody and on any device. When I was working on the collaborative asynchronously assignment for the digital literacy course, I discovered and was proud that my teachers and friends are like flowing rivers that never stopped in one place and were always on the move, moving to different cities and countries to learn and then to teach the humanity. Every student in my historiography class last semester organized a field trip for his classmates, which they then presented in class. During our presentations, our professor displayed the coordinates and pictures of the location from Google Map, which gave us the impression that we were actually there rather than just listening. Students should learn how to use maps and mapping as it is a very useful skill in real life. Before, all students completed their assignments using a hard map that was difficult to use, especially when searching for specific locations. With the arrival of digital maps, finding information about locations and using maps has never been simpler. Another benefit of utilizing digital maps is that scales are measured much more easily and distances are calculated automatically, as opposed to traditional maps, which had the scale written at the bottom and required manual calculation, which frequently produced inaccurate results. In short, digital maps can be used in a variety of school subjects, including the most popular one, social studies; mathematics, which can be used to measure various distances or convert between different units of distance; and writing assignments, which are among the best opportunities for students to use digital maps and consult them before writing.
