Sociology of Culture
Fall2024

The course aims to equip students with both theoretical insights and practical skills, suitable for academic research or professional application in various industries. Throughout the course, you will engage with key concepts and theoretical frameworks within the sociology of culture, focusing on culture's role in identity formation, social stratification, and power dynamics. Through lectures, discussions, and project work, students will critically analyze cultural phenomena and apply sociological theories and methods to real-world challenges.

Central to the course is the development of a final project, where you can choose from three tracks—research, practical, or policy—allowing to tailor your learning experience to individual goals. Each track involves specific tasks aligned with achieving a comprehensive understanding of culture's role in society, including its production, consumption, and representation.
