Several years ago, it occurred to me that I have lived in Central Asia longer than, probably, anyone else of Welsh ancestry in the history of the world.
Hmm.
That makes me a very unusual type of expert.
A similar logic applies to you: You have now studied in online graduate education longer than almost any other Central Asians in history.
That makes you an unusual type of expert.
So, think of the tools that you need to show yourself as an expert in this growing field. In face-to-face schools 15 years ago, men would have needed a black suit, and women would have needed a long skirt or dress, and you all would have needed business cards.
Today, you need a LinkedIn Profile, a personal biography, key words about your interests, and a personal website that shows your CV.
That's your task for this lesson. (Warning: This may take a couple hours. 😬)

- Go to this sheet.
- Click on the tab at the bottom that says "Module 1".
- Enter the information it asks for.
If you've never made a professional website before, the easiest is probably Google Sites. However, if you want to go a little more complex, try Wix or Wordpress. The basic service package is free for all of them.
Your professional site should be a place that presents you with a professional image. You should sound friendly, but this isn't the place to show pictures of your kitten or your favorite lagman recipe. :) Right now, it only needs 2 pages: a welcome page that introduces you, and your CV.

Don't panic. You don't need to have every part of this 100% finalized. You'll come back to this often during the training. For now, though, get started.
When you've added all of the information to the Sheet, post messages to at least 3 of your colleagues here, commenting on their website content and design.Post by January 17.
