I really enjoyed doing this activity; it was exciting to use it for the first time.

Using Google Maps in different lessons will be like:

For a history lesson, talk about some countries and significant events that occurred in that region, then have students locate them on a map. For a math lesson, finding the distances and making some shapes. During this activity, could see that how this activity can make social studies lesson more interesting, As far as am aware, social studies lessons are extremely boring when the class is teacher-centered and students are expected to sit and listen to the lecture all of the time.For language lesson, can say that when students are learning about "nationalities," they can choose different countries from the map to discuss their language, tourist attractions, and cultures in those countries.

If didn't use digital technology for this activity, would print the maps of the countries and stick them on the board.
When the students want to talk about specific country, they will pick one of them and start talking, or they may do some matching on the board.

Children in the twenty-first century are very interested in technology. As result, enhancing our lessons with digital technology will pique their interest more than lesson with book and board.
Furthermore, digital technology makes teaching easier for teachers while also making it more interesting and enjoyable for students. This is what we as educators desire. We are always looking for simple, effective, and fun ways to make teaching more appealing to students.

I am very agree with you regarding the status of our social lesson classes in Afghanistan schools as it is all teacher-centered and the students are supposed to just listen, by using this activity students would surely love to attend the social classes more than anytime.

Yes, I think by now we all agreed that in addition to the fact that using such online tools that can increase interest, they are also cost effective and most importantly environmentally friendly - just think about schools who could print hundreds or even thousand of these maps on paper and only then to trash or burn them.

The other point we may think of is how can this be accessible to all students because there are so many students in the developing world - well Afghanistan in mind though I am not sure if it is any more counted as a developing country.
