Completion requirements
Dear Students,
Below you may sign-up for the paper that you wish to present. You will need to make 1 individual presentation, which will comprise 10% (maximum) of your final grade. The break-down of the grade is as follows:
- Send a draft version of your slides to me by email 4 days before your presentation (full 2%).
- Deliver a presentation on the specified date. No make-up presentations are allowed.
- Quality of the presentation (maximum 3%) and analysis (maximum 5%).
GUIDELINES:
- Duration: 40 minutes (maximum): 30 minutes for a presentation and 10 minutes for questions. You will be interrupted after you have reached the time limit, and no opportunity will be given to finish your presentation.
- You should prepare slides for the presentation.
- The presentation should contain (among other relevant information) the following:
- Motivation.
- Problem / Issue (that the paper is addressing).
- Objective of the paper.
- Contribution to literature.
- Data used.
- Methodology.
- Results.
- Your comments about the paper, with emphasis on its advantages, limitations, and possibilities for improvement. You can discuss the writing style (among other things) and econometric techniques used. You should directly connect the paper to the relevant topic studied in the class.
