The course is intended to build the skills necessary for successfully passing the TOEFL test with a desired score. The course will familiarize students with the overall structure of the TOEFL test as well as test taking strategies. This course is based around the core components of the Paper Based TOEFL Test: Structure and Written Expression, Reading Comprehension and the Test of Written Expression. Supplementary work on vocabulary and grammar is included to build learners' academic vocabulary and grammar expertise needed for the SWE section of the test.


Students need the course to get prepared for taking admissions exams at the American University of Central Asia or other universities of their choice. The level of difficulty ranges between intermediate to advanced levels of English. The course is focused on developing academic reading skills and studying grammar structures necessary for successful taking of Reading Comprehension and Structure and Written Expression sections of the paper-based TOEFL test. Students also improve their academic writing skills by practicing essay writing in the format of the Test of Written Expression section of the TOEFL test.
